Rib Challenge this Sat. Oct.22nd

Our two teams are through to the final of the Rib Challenge taking place this Saturday in Dun Laoghaire at the National Yacht Club.
They have been training hard over the last three weeks with Ciaran and Bartley. The tests in the competition are wide ranging including knowledge of rules of the sea, navigational aids, tides, safety, knots and rope throwing as well as the control and use of a powerboat.
They will be competing against 12 teams from all over Ireland and the grand prize is a RIB for the winning club. Only one team can win the prize, but they are all winners as they have learnt a range of valuable skills over the last few weeks which will be a great asset to the competitors themselves and to their clubs.
Also it should be a great day out in Dun Laoghaire.
The competition starts at 10.00am for the 7 clubs nearest to Dun Laoghaire, we will be on in the afternoon at 1pm and it all takes about three hours!
Support would be welcome if you are anywhere near. Food available in the National Yacht Club and it will all take place close to the Club.
So good luck to Conor, Eoin and Daragh  with Ciaran Oliver(Team 1) and Fionn, Ciaran and Eamonn with Bartley (Team 2),
More news later but please note Sat. Nov 5th is Sports open day in Eyre Sq./Eyre Sq. Centre and we will be looking for volunteers to help publicise the club.
