Are you looking for an exciting and adventurous activity for your kids this summer? Look no further than Galway City Sailing Club’s six-week Junior Summer Sailing Programme!

Courses run from June 17th to the end of July and cater to young sailors of all experience levels, aged 8 to 18. Whether they’re complete beginners or looking to hone their skills, we have the perfect course to get them out on the water and having a blast!

Our programme follows the Irish Sailing (IS) training programme which includes fun and engaging courses like Cara Na Mara (Otters, Seals, Dolphins & Orcas), Taste of Sailing, Start Sailing, Basic Skills & Improving Skills.

From July 1st, mornings are perfect for introducing younger sailors (age 8-12) to the world of sailing, while afternoons cater to older sailors of all levels.

We offer a variety of course options to fit your needs and schedule.

Beginner Level (Cara Na Mara, Taste of Sailing & Start Sailing):

  • One week courses are available in the mornings for weeks 1 & 2 for sailors age 8-18 (weeks starting June 17 & 24)
  • One week courses are available in the mornings for weeks 3 to 6 for sailors age 8-12 (weeks starting July 01, 08, 15 & 22)
  • Two week courses are available in the mornings for weeks 3 to 4 and weeks 5 to 6 for sailors age 8-10 (weeks starting July 01 & 15)
  • One week courses are also available in the afternoons for weeks 3 to 6 for sailors age 8-18 (weeks starting July 01, 08, 15 & 22)

Improver / Intermediate To Advanced Level (Basic Skills & Improving Skills):

  • One week courses are available in the afternoons for weeks 1, 3 & 6 for sailors age 8-18 (weeks starting June 17, July 01 & 15)
  • Two week courses are available in the afternoons for weeks 1, 3 & 6 for sailors age 8-18 (weeks starting June 17, July 01 & 15)
