Safety Briefing Kicks Off 2025 Sailing Season
A big thank you to all who attended the GCSC Safety Briefing on Saturday, 5th April. It was great to catch up and prepare for another exciting sailing season.
For those who couldn’t make it, please take a moment to review our Safety Training Material and Safety Statement. Familiarity with these guidelines is essential for all members.
The Safety Boat Duty Rota will be published soon – please check the website and note your assigned dates in your calendar. Safety Duty is a core responsibility of membership and essential to keeping everyone safe on the water. Sailing sessions cannot go ahead without safety cover, so if you’re unable to attend your scheduled duty, please notify the club via the WhatsApp group and arrange a swap.
A practical demonstration was also held on using the tractor and launching/retrieving the safety boat. If you missed it or want a refresher, a training video is available here.
