Three Adult Sailing Courses Starting June 2018 at Galway City Sailing Club announced. Courses offered are Beginner Sailing Course (IS Certified), Refresher Sailing Course and Up-Skill Sailing Course (members only course).
Basic Skills IS Certified – Starting June 10

Basic Sailing Skills IS Certified Course
The course offers learners with no previous knowledge the basic knowledge, sailing techniques and maneuvers and skills to sail a sailing dinghy under the instruction of an Senior Sailing Instructor.
Delivery: 5 half days (Sunday) 3.00pm – 7.00pm.
When: Sunday Afternoon June 10, June 17th, June 24th, July 01st & July 08th
Objective: The learner will be able to sail the training boat in light to moderate wind conditions under the instructions of an Senior Sailing Instructor. For further information please see IS syllabus.
Refresher Sailing Course – Starting June 11

Refresher Sailing Skills with a Topaz Uno – Non Certified Course
The course offers an opportunity for club sailors and non club sailing Beginners to refresh their sailing practice. The course will give opportunity to apply essential boat handling skills under the instruction of an Senior Sailing Instructor.

Up-skill Sailing Course – Club Members Only – Starting June 13

Sailing with our new Topper Argos – non certified course
The course offers an opportunity for club sailors to practice and apply their boat handling skills to the new Argos Club Fleet (familiarisation) . The participants should get opportunity to learn some new skills (helm and crew) related to technical features of this modern boats.
Familiarisation with club boats is an important aspect of Safety on the Water and of particular interest of fellow club sailors and safety boat crew. This course is a ones off programme available for all club sailors with sailing skills and practice and knowledge with a larger dinghy (420 etc).
