Get your boat, find the wind and get ready for a great day on the water!
Our 2026 Junior Regatta is coming to Galway City Sailing Club and we’re inviting junior sailors from GCSC and local sailing clubs to join us for a day of sailing, racing and plenty of fun.
Whether you’re an experienced racer looking to battle it out at the front of the fleet, or you’re newer to racing and want to give it a go, there’s a place for you.

What’s happening?
Mixed dinghy racing with two fleets:
MAIN FLEET
For more experienced junior sailors who are ready to race hard, sharpen their skills and see who can get to the front of the fleet.
REGATTA FLEET
For sailors who are newer to racing and want to get a taste of competitive sailing in a more relaxed environment.
So whether you’re chasing the podium or chasing your friends around the course, come along and give it a go!
Entry fees
Own boat entry:
Single-handed dinghy: €15
Double-handed dinghy: €30
Need a club boat?
GCSC members can hire a club boat for an additional €5.
There are 10 rental boats available in total:
- 8 single-handers
- 2 double-handers
Club boats are limited, so if you need one, don’t leave it until the last minute.
A few important bits
Every sailor taking part agrees to follow the Notice of Race, Galway City Sailing Club rules and any instructions issued by Galway City Sailing Club.
And, as every sailor knows, the wind gets the final say!
The regatta will only go ahead if weather conditions are suitable.
