Building Confidence, Friendships & Future Sailors – One Course at a Time

Sharon on Sailing, Value and Access

“This year, we’re thrilled to offer eight full weeks of sailing courses for junior sailors, including newcomers” said Sharon de Bhaldraithe, Junior Organiser at Galway City Sailing Club. “These courses can spark a lifelong love of sailing and help children build confidence, resilience and lasting friendships. We’ve seen young sailors go from complete beginners to skilled instructors here at the club, university sailors, work with Coiste Uisce in Belmullet and some have even taken their passion for sailing as far as Greece – all beginning with a course like this.”

Sharon added that the club is committed to making sailing more accessible: “We understand the financial pressures families are under, so we’ve worked to ensure our full-week courses offer tremendous value for money. And being just two minutes from Galway Harbour, we’re ideally located for families across the city.”
