Our event was graced by the enthusiastic presence of sailors from CSS Spiddal, Galway Bay Sailing Club, and our very own Galway City Sailing Club. A Regatta for Everyone
Galway City Sailing Club’s Junior Regatta is an inclusive event designed to cater to all skill levels and ages. Whether you’re a junior club member or part of a local sailing club, this is your chance to shine on the water. Here’s everything you need to know about the regatta:
Entry Options:
Own Boat Entry: For those who have their own boats, the entry fee is €15 for single-handed dinghies and an additional €5 for double-handed entries. This option allows you to bring your trusty vessel and compete in your familiar craft. Own Boat Register Here.
Members Only – Club Boat Entry: If you’re a member of Galway City Sailing Club, you have the unique opportunity to use club boats for the regatta. The entry fee for this option is €20 for single-handed dinghies and an additional €5 for double-handed entries. Club Boat Register Here.
Three Exciting Fleets:
To ensure a fair and exciting competition, we’ve divided the regatta into three fleets:
Novice Fleet: This fleet is perfect for beginners with no previous racing experience. If you’ve always wanted to give sailing a try or have recently discovered your love for the sport, this is your chance to dip your toes in the water and learn from the best.
Regatta Fleet: If you have some racing experience but haven’t yet participated in major regattas, the Regatta Fleet is the ideal stepping stone for you. Compete against like-minded sailors and take your skills to the next level.
Main Fleet: For those with extensive racing experience and a history of participating in multiple regattas, the Main Fleet offers a competitive stage to showcase your prowess on the water. It’s where the best of the best come to battle it out and claim victory.
