Membership Application

Galway City Sailing Club is open for membership applications. To join please complete the Online Membership Application or download and complete a Membership Application Form and submit it to the club. Instructions for paying fees are below and on the application form. An application to join implies that you have read the Club Code of Conduct and agree to abide by the code.

Membership Categories

Voting Rights
Ordinary Member
Persons over 18 years of age on the 1st January of the year and who are not student members.		 €130 Full
Junior Member
Persons 18 years of age or under on the 1st January of the year.		 €75 Junior concerns
Family Members
An adult and their spouse/partner who shall be Ordinary members and the children of that family who are 18 years of age or under on the 1st of January of the year who shall be Junior members.		 €230 See rows above
Student Member: Persons over 18 years on the 1st January of the year who are in full time education. €75 Full
Associate Member
Persons taking a full part in the Club but who are officially long term unemployed and/or disabled.		 €75 Full
Non-sailing Member
Persons who join and support the Club but who do not take part on the water in any Club events and do not keep a boat on the Club premises or Galway Ocean Sports Club premises.		 €40 Full
IWA Windsurfer
Members of IWA		 €40** Full
Temporary Member
Persons (not members) taking part in any event organized by the Club will be deemed temporary members for the duration of the event only and must abide by the rules of the Club and any other rules as set out in the notice of the event.		 N/A None
Notes:

  1. * The Levy is a contribution to the Club Development Fund and represents 50% of the total
  2. ** This is a contribution to the Club Development Fund only
  3. Membership applications can be made online via this website.
  4. There is a charge of €40 per year for each dinghy sailing boat kept on Galway City Sailing Club dinghy park or on Galway Ocean Sports Club premises. Dinghy Park is for the convenience of active sailing members and is not a boat storage facility.

Membership Subscriptions
The annual subscription for each category is payable to the Honorary Treasurer on notification of admission to membership to the club. Membership shall not commence until the appropriate subscription is paid in full.

Subscriptions shall become due on the 1st January and shall be paid by March 31st of the current year. A levy of 10% will apply for late subscriptions. Any subscription not paid by May 31st will be deemed as a resignation from the Club and the member will be struck off the list of members and be obliged to remove any equipment from the Club or GOSC premises.
